Breast Lift Surgery
A breast lift elevates and reshapes sagging breasts. A breast lift will reshape or remove excess skin, elevate the remaining tissue and skin, and reposition the nipples. When the physical aspects of a breast lift are accomplished, the result also has an effect on your feelings of self-esteem and confidence.
There are different types of breast lifts you should be aware of if you are contemplating having this procedure done. A full breast lift requires multiple incisions and has the most dramatic outcome. A modified breast lift uses only one incision on the areola, which results in less scarring, but also has a less dramatic outcome.
Breast lift surgery is usually done on an outpatient basis in one to three hours. The time it takes varies case by case. The side effects of breast lift surgery include temporary discomfort, some bruising and swelling, and the healing skin may feel dry. The scarring associated with this procedure will lessen over time.
Breast lift surgery results can be permanent, but aging, gravity and weight changes sometimes create a need for breast lift revision surgery.
Have you been contemplating breast lift surgery? Please contact the highly trained cosmetic surgeon, Douglas L. Hendricks, M.D., FACS of Pacifica Cosmetic Surgery Center today to schedule a comprehensive consultation to learn more about this procedure.
