Buttock Augmentation Questions
Newport Beach – Orange County – California
Who is an ideal candidate for buttock augmentation?
Women who are unsatisfied with the contour of their buttocks, have excess fat, or find their buttocks unsuited to their body are ideal candidates for buttock augmentation surgery.
What is the buttock augmentation procedure?
With implants, an incision is made underneath the buttocks or in the crease near the anus. From there, pockets are made within the buttocks for the implant. The implant is specifically designed for your body and will be inserted into the pockets and adjusted for a perfectly symmetrical appearance. The incision will then be stitched shut and recovery can begin.
For augmentations with fat, fat will be harvested from fatty areas of your body and injected into your buttocks.
What are buttock augmentation implants made of?
Buttock implants are made from solid silicone. These custom made implants have the same feel as your natural buttocks. Unlike silicone breast implants, buttock implants are solid and will not leak, making them safe to perform all the functions of the buttocks.
What is the buttock augmentation recovery process?
Depending on the method, recovery from buttock augmentation surgery can take as little as a few weeks. Recovery is faster if your own fat was used; implants take a bit longer to heal due to the increased surgical procedure. A special undergarment will need to be worn to reduce swelling and support proper position for the first few weeks after surgery. During this time it is not advisable to return to work. Normal activities can usually resume within a few weeks.
Are there risks of complication with buttock augmentation?
As with all surgery, there are some complications related to buttock augmentation surgery. Most of these complications are similar to those experienced with any surgery. In rare cases severe complications can arise. Dr. Hendricks will discuss all of the potential risks with you during your initial consultation.
