What is Restylane®

Restylane® is a dermal filler comprised of hyaluronic acid gel. It is injected into the skin, immediately improving the appearance of your skin. Hyaluronic acid binds water to provide long lasting volume, improve skin elasticity, and enhance the overall youthful appearance of your skin.

How does Restylane® work?

The hyaluronic acid in Restylane® in very similar to the hyaluronic acid produced naturally in your body. Hyaluronic acid is what gives your skin its supple, voluminous appearance. By injecting Restylane® into lines and wrinkles, you are restoring your skin to a more youthful appearance without the use of more invasive laser or surgical treatments.

What are the benefits of Restylane®?

Restylane® provides immediate results, eliminating lines, wrinkles, and other imperfections. At the same time, because it is nonsurgical, it requires only one quick procedure, very little downtime, and doesn't carry the risks of surgical procedures. What areas can be treated with Restylane®?

Restylane® is effective in eliminating lines and wrinkles in several areas. The most common are:

Can Restylane® be used for reshaping?

In addition to treating lines and wrinkles, Restylane® can be used to:

  • Reshape the chin

  • Enhance lips

Restylane® adds volume wherever it is injected. Areas of the face that do not have wrinkles can still benefit by Resylane® treatment.

How long do results last?

Results from Restylane® can last anywhere from six to eighteen months, depending on what areas of the face were treated. Lines and wrinkles generally require a follow-up treatment around four months, but thereafter results can last up to one year. Lip enhancements require, on average, a follow-up treatment every six months. Skin type, lifestyle, and other factors will impact the duration of your results.

Is Restylane® dangerous?

No. Restylane® has been in use for over ten years and has been used by millions of patients. And Hyaluronic Acid is a substance our own body manufactures..it is not a foreign substance. Minor swelling, redness, and slight discomfort can occur with any type of injections, but these usually last only a few days. In some cases, redness, swelling, itching, and bruising can last for a few weeks, but these instances are rare. In most cases, you will be able to face the world without any sign of your treatment within one to two days.
