CALF AUGMENTATION

Calf Augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure that many men and women pursue in order to achieve lower legs that are better proportioned to the rest of their body. If you are unhappy or dissatisfied with the look of your legs, then calf augmentation surgery may be a wonderful option for you.

Calf augmentation is performed to enhance the look of the calf muscles in the lower legs. The calf muscles are notorious for being difficult in sculpting through regular exercise, and many people find that having calf augmentation provides them with the look they could not achieve before.

If you would like to have a calf augmentation procedure performed to enhance your calves, schedule an initial consultation. During your initial calf augmentation consultation with Dr. Hendricks, you will be able to discuss the results you would like to see.

If calf augmentation is the solution for you, Dr. Hendricks will measure your calves and help you decide on a calf augmentation implant that is right for the result you want. Dr. Hendricks will be able to fit you with a custom-made calf augmentation implant after creating a mold of your natural calf muscles.

Calf augmentation implants are designed to feel firm, but also soft like a well exercised and developed calf muscle. Dr. Hendricks will also inform you of the directions you should follow prior to your calf augmentation surgery.

Calf augmentation is usually performed under local anesthetics and sleep sedation, but it can also be performed under general anesthesia. Calf augmentation uses two implants per leg, four per patient, so that the results look like the natural shape of the calf muscle.

During the calf augmentation procedure, Dr. Hendricks will make an incision in the crease behind the knee so that any resulting scars are naturally concealed. Then, pockets are formed behind both parts of the natural calf muscles and the calf augmentation implants are placed.

Your calf augmentation surgery should last about 1 to 1 ½ hours. After the calf augmentation surgery, Dr. Hendricks will close the incision and provide you with compression stocking that should be worn for a couple weeks to aid in the recovery process.

After your calf augmentation surgery, you will be able to return home and rest for about 24 hours before walking. Movement after surgery must be limited, because there may be a risk of damaging the results and infecting the area.

Normal walking and movement can be resumed after one or two weeks, but stretching and using the calves too much can be dangerous. Exercise and more strenuous walking activities can be resumed after a month or so.

If you are interested in having calf augmentation performed to improve the appearance and enhance the look of your legs, contact Dr. Hendricks today and schedule your initial calf augmentation consultation.
