Areas Treated With Restylane®

Restylane® can be used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of lines on several areas of the face, including:

Restylane® Procedure

Restylane® is administered directly into moderate to severe wrinkles, lines, and folds in the skin with an injection. Hyaluronic acid molecules bind with water several times their weight allowing for a slower breakdown and longer lasting results. Average results last anywhere from six to eighteen months. After your initial treatment, a follow-up treatment at four to six months is recommended; thereafter your skin should retain the benefits of the Restylane® for an additional twelve months. During treatment most patients experience mild temporary discomfort from the injection which subsides quickly with the application of topical anesthetics and ice. Dr. Hendricks will work closely with you to ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible.

Downtime and Risks of Restylane®

As with all injections, slight swelling, bruising, itching, or tenderness can occur but is not common with Restylane® injections. These issues should they occur, generally last no more than two days. In rare cases, inflammatory reactions may last up to two weeks, but these instances are few and far between. Over ten million Restylane® injections have been preformed since its invention in 1996, and it has been proven to be an effective, safe, and immediately noticeable way to restore youthfulness to skin.

Be sure to tell Dr. Hendricks if you have had an active skin disease, inflammation, or permanent implants in the areas you would like to have treated as these can increase your risk of the known complications of the treatment.
